If you want a reliable well built and heavy duty lead. Then this is the one!This lead is put together really well. It feels very solid in your hand and is easy to use. The locking button and mechanism also seem well engineered. The recoil spring also seems quite strong. Obviously time will tell with our Standard Schnauzer giving it a workout. I particularly like the open reel idea. If the lead gets wet, it winds onto the drum but is not trapped inside a casing. So it should help get rid of any water or debris. The only slight problem I’ve found is a bit of play in the drum and a cluncking noise when locked and the dog pulls and releases. This causes people to look around if you are walking behind them. Which is not a bad thing. A friend of mine has had one of these leads for years with his huge Ridgeback/Labrador and recommended this lead, so I’m expecting great things from this product.

Feels Industrial qualityBought 10m professional to replace a 5m £10 supermarket cord lead – Wht a difference! Dog can go twice as far (now she’s worked out it extends further!) the bright yellow tape is great, really obvious and easy to grab. Lead retracts as fast as my Staffie can sprint so it never gets slack. Wish I’d bought a “proper” lead like this years ago- feels sturdy and well built. Trade off is its heavier but it all feels well designed to hang from your hand – cannot recommend this lead enough, very few 10m leads exist (that retract) so this was perfect and feels like will last years and years.

Great lead but …I have had many flexi leads and I do like this one but … there is nowhere to attach the flexi poo bag/treat holder, which is enough to discourage people from picking up poo in the first place. And certain people don’t need any further discouragement. Come on flexi, this needs modifying. I would have given you 5 stars if this was the case.

Best retractable I’ve hadI’ve had this for 3 months and that’s much longer than my previous ones that cost the same amount. My 33kg muscle bound lab can pull and at times runs to see a dog. I can press the lock button and with a strong arm he stops in his tracks. Thankfully not too often as his training continues to improve But with confidence.

It worksIdeal for letting your dog maximum freedom when training and not letting it off lead. I also use a long lead but when it’s raining it’s a mess to use. Not ideal when walking normally, best to use a standard lead for that. It has allowed me to let my dog get maximum exercise and training whilst in her first season and keeping her away from other dogs.

Good grip small handleWanted to give this 5 stars but just too many problems. Long tape is great and comfortably handles the pull of a 20 kg hound. It is pretty rough and thin so don’t grab it unless you want some serious burns. Use a short extension if you need to pull your dog close. The buttons are sticky and the lead does slip a little but nothing problematic. Main issue is the grip. Lovely tacky feel but too small for my 9 cm knuckles which makes it difficult to switch hands or grip. Unusable for anyone with larger hands unless you want to drop a pinkie outside the handle (yes, I tried this!). The winding mechanism is quick and because the tape is thin it can tangle and get stuck in the mechanism. But a nice touch is the screw in bolts which allows you to prise it open a little to untangle the tape and loosen the buttons. Overall, it’s got alot going for it, so would love to see a version with a larger grip and some work on the locking mechanism.

Tolle Qualität an das Gewicht gewöhnt man sich schnellIch kann an der Leine nix bemängeln. Klar ist der Kasten klobig und schwer, aber es müssen ja auch 10 Meter robuste Leine darin Platz finden. Völlig ok. Wer einen großen Hund führt sollte ja sowieso genug Kraft haben, diesen in Notsituationen halten und händeln zu können. Ich komme mit dem Gewicht gut zurecht. 10 Meter sind eine tolle Länge. Zusätzlich zur Flexi hängt bei mir auch immer noch ein Kurzführer am Geschirr des Hundes. Wenn ich es mal griffiger brauche, habe ich ihn mit Flexi und Kurzführer gut im Griff. Ansonsten genießt er an der Flexi oder an der Schleppleine dort seinen Freiraum, wo ein Ableinen nicht möglich ist oder eben in der Brut und Setzzeit.Eine Bitte an alle Hundehalter, bitte befestigt niemals eine Flexi oder Schleppleine am Halsband! Das ist grob fahrlässig und kann böse für das Tier enden.Was man auch beachten sollte ist, dass einem immer mal der Kasten aus der Hand reißt/rutscht und dann hinter dem Hund herscheppert. Das kann eine Hund mit dem diese Situation nicht trainiert wurde in heftigste Panik versetzen und er rast kopflos davon.Toi toi toi, es ist mir noch nicht passiert und ich habe es mit meinem Hund mit zweiter Sicherung trainiert. Er bleibt sofort stehen. Da dies niemals eine Garantie ist, sichere ich mir den Kasten mit einer zweiten Leine am Körper. Das klappt super und behindert mich nicht in der Bewegung.Zu der Leine selbst kann ich sagen, dass die Qualität mehr als gut ist und der neongelbe Gurt super sichtbar!Wenn die Leine, also der Gurt nass geworden ist, tolle ich sie komplett aus und lasse sie trocken. Auf diese Weise habe ich keine Probleme mit schlechten Gerüchen.02.08.2021: die Leine ist noch immer in Gebrauch und rollt ein und aus wie am Anfang. Die Qualität ist wirklich super.

Super. Super Leine, mit 8 Metern genau richtig…. So kann der Rottweiler sich sieben Meter tief eingraben und ich kann sie zurück ziehen. Alternativ kann ich ins Loch klettern und der leuchtgelben Schnur folgen…Ein Nachteil ist, dass Jogger und Radfahrer nun nicht mehr stürzen, da man die Leuchtschnur so gut sieht. Die Menschen weichen aus und wir haben weniger zu lachen…

Mit leichten Verbesserungen eine sehr gute HundeleineFür den Schritt zu einer Flex habe ich lange gebraucht, da ich persönlich einige Vorbehalte hatte. Doch seit ich sie habe und zwei Kleinigkeiten verbessert habe, ist sie ein Top Werkzeug für das Training und den Auslauf mit dem Hund. Man kann dem Hund jederzeit mehr Auslauf / Freiraum geben, ihn aber mit einem Fingerdruck auch beschränken. In der frei laufenden Leine kann so “Komm” oder “Hier” trainiert werden, ohne dem Hund einen Ruck verspüren zu lassen. Das gibt dem Hund mehr Sicherheit und auch einen schnelleren Lernerfolg. Im Gegensatz zu einer Schleppleine kann ich mit der Flex auch in frequentiertem Terrain trainieren und bin nicht dauernd mit Leine geben und aufwickeln beschäftigt.Zwei Nachteile hat die Flexi dann aber auch, die ich mit etwas handwerklichem Geschick nachgebessert habe. Nichts Wildes, aber eine entsprechender Hinweis oder Angebot des Herstellers würde die Sache abrunden:1. Die Leine verdreht sich beim Training dauernd und wird gelegentlich verdreht aufgerollt. Eigentlich sollte die Einlauföffnung dies vermeiden, passiert trotzdem hin und wieder. Ich habe daher die Aufnahme des Karabiners mit Siliconspray behandelt. Nun dreht der Karabiner besser und die Leine entdrillt, selbst wenn der Hund schnell zurückkommt.2. Die Leine ist für Hunde bis 50 Kilo gedacht. Allerdings kann ein 20 KG schwere Hund auch schon mal mit einem kräftigen Ruck in die Begrenzung laufen. Geschieht das etwas unerwartet, dann droht man den Griff und damit die Kontrolle aus der Hand zu verlieren. Zu diesem Zweck habe ich mir aus einem alten Rucksack-Gurt eine Schlaufe um den Griff genäht. Praktischer Nebeneffekt ist, dass man zum Häufchen aufheben kurz beide Hände frei hat. Perfekt wäre natürlich, wenn der Hersteller für so etwas eine Befestigung am Griff vorgesehen hätte oder etwas anbieten würde.Mit der Flexi bin ich sehr zufrieden und kann sie nur weiterempfehlen. Einen Stern zeihe ich jedoch für die beschriebenen Einschränkungen ab.

sehr gute Leine…ich verwende dieses Modell bereits seit 1999, um damit meinen Schlittenhunden möglichst viel Auslauf zu gewähren.Die Leine ist sehr robust und hält auch 48 kg schwere Alaskan Malamuten stand.Leider gibt es ein paar Schwachstellen, welche den einen Stern Punktabzug m.E. rechtfertigen:1.) Das Material des Hakens ist m.E. falsch ausgelegt. Der Haken dreht sich lediglich 1 Monat einwandfrei. Dann beginnt er durch Verschleiß zu “fressen” => Wenn sich der Hund während des Gassi-gehens dreht, verdreht sich auch das Gurtband => dass dieses nicht mehr geradlinig ins Leinengehäuse einläuft und verheddert.2.) Die Rückholfeder. Sie ist m.E. zu schwach ausgelegt. Geht man bei Schnee oder Regen spazieren saugt sich das Gurtband voll, wird schwer und hängt bis Bodenkontakt durch, wodurch das Band zusätzlich verschmutzt und auch nicht mehr sauber ins Gehäuse einläuft.3.) Der gummierte Griff. Dieser wird bei Nässe oder wenn man schwitzt so schlüpfrig, dass man einen starken Hund dann kaum noch halten kann. Hier wurde m.E. auch das falsche Material gewählt.Ansonsten ist die Leine echt top, sehr robust und hält bei täglichen Gassi-gängen um die 3-4 Stunden ungefähr 1,5 Jahre.

Gute Qualität, gute LeineHabe die schlechten Rezensionen gelesen und trotzdem mir eine gekauft. Warum? Es ist schon verwunderlich, was manche Leute so meckern haben. Bei mir ist es die Zweite. Eins vorn weg. Keine normale Leine der Welt hält dem Biss eines Hundes stand. Man sollte das dem Hund verbieten. Ein Hund hat immer eine gute Beiskraft und das liegt nun mal in seiner Natur. Wohlgemerkt meine Zweite, da die Erste kaputt gegangen ist. Ich hatte diese fast 6 Jahre. Mein Hund ist ein deutscher Jagdterrierer und die sind für ihr Temprament und “Dummheit” bekannt. Vor der Flexi hatte ich einige andere Leinen “getestet”, welche kaum das Auspacken überlebt haben. Meine Meinung Flexi ist die beste Leine, die es gibt, was die Rollleinen betrifft.
